teaching lessons

this weekend was a very productive and positive time of teaching and learning and advanced children and faraway family reuniting.  i was so pumped to see lisa and ben and their kids sam (5y) and eli (3m).  and do they ever disappoint?  hell, no.

i will say that sam is my favorite type of little boy.  imaginative, into legos, talkative, losing teeth so his mouth is full of spit half of the time, into dinosaurs and a small prodigy.  and it was very touching to see dave (grandpa) recalling the scene at the end of the hunt for red october where sean connery and alec baldwin both reminisce about their shared experience of their grandfathers teaching them to fish.  it was touching.  dave even started choking up.  it was worth it.

You brought such an amazing presence to the weekend. When I saw the fishing going on, it completely reminded me of the weekend Daddy, Erich, you and I went up there by ourselves and fished off the pier that got creamed by Isabel. It was one of your first times fishing and you and Erich fished with blood worms (spirts and all). It yielded: from water to table in about 90 minutes…(could be fish story talking) but I think we had at least 3 of those bad boys(spot)which I recall were a great, high protein breakfast. This weekend was a beautiful time and this is a classic picture. Thanks for taking it. Love you!
