today at work, i asked my two coworkers what a good workout would be that fit the following conditions:
- no waking up early to run or running at lunch or running after work when it’s really dark and scary in the neighborhood
- no joining a gym or incurring any additional or lasting expense
- fun
- no being in a group of people or really out in public in any way
- no dvds or anything i have to do in front of the tv – there is no space.
and what did they come up with? jumping rope! hell yeah, dudes. i mean, i was a champion rope jumper at portsmouth catholic elementary, though i suspect that might just be because i could count higher than most of the other first graders. anyway, it’s perfect because i can do it at home under the car port, i don’t totally hate it and a pretty nice jump rope was less than 10 bucks and it came with an “upbeat audio workout.” oh also, i know i said i didn’t want to be in a group, but seriously ladies, if we work really hard, we can pull off awesome stunts and awkward video edits like these:
i think we should incorporate this into our stitch and bitch on thursdays.
i hate jump rope, it’s a really hard work out!
but, since you were a pro back in the day, maybe I can be persuaded!
go get ’em alison!
i don’t know … i like to bounce, so i think it’s a good match. though maybe what i should do is just get a moon bounce and install it in the driveway.
dood! there is the best disney video called “jump in” that will help you on your quest! keep an eye out!
I don’t know man. I tried to jump rope to train once. That business is rough on the joints.
What a great idea! Your coworkers are incredibly helpful. Ask them to figure out a workout for someone like me that includes all of those things and GiANT boobs. I think we should have to take turns on the Elliptical at stitch and bitch, maybe that would clear some of the dust off of it.
